Aglaonema 'Jazzy Red'
Aglaonema 'Jazzy Red' is a decorative indoor plant from the Araceae family, appreciated for its brightly colored foliage and tropical appearance. 🔹 Botanical characteristics:
• Habit: Herbaceous, compact, slow-growing plant. The height generally reaches 30–50 cm , with a dense and tidy bush shape.
• Leaves: Lanceolate, large and glossy, with a spectacular coloration. The background is intense red or coral pink , covered with green spots and stripes and sometimes cream accents. The edges of the leaves can be uniformly colored or slightly irregular, and the central vein is evident and colored in warm tones.
• Stems: Short and thick, pink or greenish in color, supporting erect or slightly arched leaves.
• Flowers: As with all Aglaonema, flowering is rare under indoor conditions. The flowers are in the form of spadixes with a shoulder, discreet and greenish-white in color, but are less decoratively relevant than the foliage.
🔹 Recommended growing conditions:
• Light: Indirect light is preferred, but it also adapts well to partial shade . Avoid direct exposure to strong sunlight, which can discolor the leaves. In good light, the leaf color remains intense and contrasting.
• Watering: Moderate. Water when the substrate is dry on the surface. Avoid excess water, which can lead to root rot.
• Soil: Well-drained, slightly aerated substrate, preferably a mix for green or tropical plants (peat, perlite, leaf soil).
• Humidity: It appreciates a medium to high level of humidity , but also tolerates dry air if it is protected from cold drafts or direct heat.
• Recommended temperatures: It grows best in warm, stable environments, without sudden variations.
• Fertilization: Fertilize every 3–4 weeks, during the active growth period (spring–summer), with a balanced liquid fertilizer.
The leaves show variations in colors and shapes.
