Kiwi autofertil - Actinidia deliciosa 'Solissimo'® - rezistent la ger
Kiwi - Actinidia deliciosa 'Solissimo'® - self-fertile variety, with very good frost resistance and large, marketable fruit.
The 'Solissimo' ('RENACT') kiwi is the first "self-fertile" (parthenocarpic) kiwi variety that offers consistent yields. The fruit size of this variety, derived from 'Hayward', is also significantly improved. Like other classic kiwi varieties, 'Solissimo' ('RENACT') is very vigorous; it grows up to a height of 4-7 meters and requires a sturdy frame for climbing. In the first years of cultivation, light protection against winter frost is recommended. Once established, the 'Solissimo' RENACT kiwi also produces long shoots of about one meter during the summer. Summer pruning in June/July is not just a recommendation but mandatory for this variety. This measure promotes flowering the following year and, unlike winter pruning, tends to inhibit growth, which can increase yield and harvest volume.
Frost resistance: down to -20 degrees Celsius, but it is recommended to protect the plant in the first 2-3 years until the stem becomes woody/mature enough.
Cultivation recommendations: Grown on trellises/arches/fences, like a grapevine. We recommend choosing a wind-sheltered area, preferably near a wall/fence with southern exposure. Kiwi Solissimo appreciates warmth and direct sunlight. The first prunings can be done 2 years after planting.
Fruit quality: the fruits are sweet (when fully ripe), slightly acidic, juicy, medium-sized. They can be eaten without peeling and keep well for several weeks.
Does not require special soil and is resistant to diseases and pests, being naturally considered "pest free".
Height including pot: approx. 60 cm. Varies depending on the season.
Pot size: 1-2 liters (D11-13cm)
Note: in the cold season, plants are in dormancy, shortened, and sold without leaves.
