Dracena - Dracaena marginata ‘Magenta’

Dracaena marginata 'Magenta' , also known as Dracaena Magenta , is an exotic and upright houseplant, prized for its thin, arching, dark green foliage with dark burgundy to purple edges . It is a modern and elegant variety of Dracaena marginata , ideal for minimalist or tropical decors.

🔹 Botanical characteristics:

• Habit: Perennial plant, with thin, tall and rigid stems (like a trunk), which can grow solitary or branched. It can reach heights of 1–2 meters in pots, but has a slow growth.

• Leaves: Long, narrow and pointed, arranged in a rosette at the top of the stem. The color is dark green with red-purple or magenta edges , hence the name. The leaves have a glossy and textured appearance, providing an airy and architectural decorative effect.

• Stem: Woody, tall, with a thin trunk appearance. The plant can also be grown as a "tree" with one or more stems.

🔹 Recommended growing conditions:

• Light: Prefers indirect light , but tolerates partial shade. In lower light, growth is slower and the colored edges may become more faded. Avoid intense direct sunlight.

• Watering: Moderate. Water when the top layer of soil is dry. Excess water should be avoided as it can cause root or trunk rot.

• Soil: Well-drained, loose, with peat and perlite or sand. The substrate must allow rapid water drainage.

• Humidity: Easily adapts to normal indoor humidity. Occasional misting can help prevent leaf tips from drying out.

• Fertilization: Can be fertilized monthly, during the growing season (spring-summer), with a fertilizer for green plants.
