Care
1. Light
• It prefers bright indirect light to maintain the vivid colors of the leaves.
• It can tolerate medium light, but the colors will be more intense in good light conditions.
• Avoid direct sunlight, which can burn the leaves.
2. Temperature
• The ideal temperature is between 18-26°C.
• The plant does not tolerate cold; avoid exposure to temperatures below 15°C.
• Make sure it is protected from cold drafts.
3. humidity
• It prefers an environment with moderate to high humidity.
• In dry spaces, periodically spray the leaves with water or place the plant on a tray of pebbles and water to increase the surrounding humidity.
4. Watering
• Keep the soil slightly moist, but not soggy. Water the plant when the top layer of soil is dry to the touch.
• Avoid stagnant water, as the roots can rot.
• Use chlorine-free water or rainwater, if possible, to avoid mineral buildup.
5. ground
• Use a well-drained soil, such as a mix for Bromeliads or a mix of soil for cacti combined with perlite.
• Drainage is essential to prevent water accumulation.
6. Fertilization
• Fertilize the plant once every 4-6 weeks during the growing season (spring and summer) with a diluted liquid fertilizer for tropical plants or Bromeliads.
• Fertilization is not necessary during winter.
7. Replanting
• Replant the plant when it becomes too crowded or when the seedlings grow enough to be separated.
• Use a pot with good drainage and fresh soil.
8. Trimming and maintenance
• Remove dry or damaged leaves to maintain a neat appearance.
• The seedlings can be separated from the mother plant when they reach a third of its size and have their own roots.
