Cattleya tenebrosa 'YD Black Eye' is an attractive cultivar of the botanical species

Cattleya tenebrosa . Discovered in 2006, with fragrant flowers , native to Brazil, found in the regions of Bahia and Espirito Santo. It has pseudobulbs up to 30 cm high and rigid leaves, 30 cm long, green, and the flowers are large, about 20 cm, bronze-copper in color with dark purple, almost black labellum, creating a dramatic contrast. It blooms more frequently in summer, with 2-3 flowers per stem, emanating a pleasant, spicy or citrus fragrance. It prefers moderate indirect light, intermediate temperatures and moderate humidity. It is appreciated for its large, unique flowers and intense fragrance.
