Adenium arabicum is a striking species of desert rose, highly valued in collections of succulent plants and bonsai for its thick, sculptural caudex that stores water and gives it a unique appearance, resembling miniature trunks. The foliage is dark green, glossy, and at maturity the plant produces pink, red, or white flowers, etc., depending on the variety. Compared to Adenium obesum, this species develops a wider and more massive caudex, making it very sought after by enthusiasts.

🌞 Growing conditions:

• Light: Prefers full sun or very strong light

• Soil: Very well drained, sandy-stony (mix for cacti and succulents)

• Watering: Low; water only when the substrate is completely dry

• Minimum temperature: 12–15°C; not frost-hardy, requires protected wintering in Romania

• Wintering: Rest period at lower temperatures, with minimal watering. During the cold season, the plant completely loses its leaves if the ambient temperature remains below 15°C or if it does not receive enough light.
