Jazmín - Jasminum sambac - especialmente fragante
Symbolizing purity and sensuality, Jasminum sambac has impressed the entire world.
It is a jasmine variety with aromatic properties and strongly fragrant white flowers. As they mature, the flowers turn shades of pink.
In China, the flowers are used to prepare the famous jasmine teas. In France, the plant has inspired countless perfumes created by designers. Worldwide, Jasminum sambac oil is a symbol of romance and is widely used as an aphrodisiac, while the cosmetics industry incorporates it in creams, shampoos, soaps, and more.
Last but not least, the plant has been awarded the Royal Horticultural Society's Award by the RHS.
Jasminum sambac flowers show great variability, possibly due to spontaneous mutations, natural hybridization, and self-pollination. Although it is typically a double-flowered variety, in some cases the flowers may be single or mixed.
