Hoya nicholsoniae - a species whose origin and identity has been long debated, without a clear final conclusion. For a while it was considered synonymous with Hoya pottsii, which was in turn included in the Verticillata complex, but this plant is different from the Hoya potsii that we have had for several years and blooms almost permanently in our greenhouse, at least in terms of leaf morphology.
It must be said that many collectors, botanists and even taxonomists consider the inclusion of many hoya species in the "verticillata complex" to be exaggerated and meaningless, because the differences between the plants are very large and it seems nonsensical for them all to bear the same name, even if they have certain genetic elements in common.
It is said that there are several clones of H. pottsii in circulation and each one presents some differences in terms of foliage and flowers.
Hoya nicholsoniae has spectacular flowers, in shades of intense yellow-straw yellow and cream, that last for about a week and are fragrant (lemon/citrus).
The plant is not at all demanding and under normal growing conditions can bloom throughout the warm season. The flowers are sensitive to large temperature variations - it is advisable to avoid growing in areas with drafts or frequent temperature changes.
Overwatering should be avoided, and fertilization should be done periodically with a weakly diluted orchid fertilizer.

Fragrant flowers: YES

The ceramic pot is not included in the price.
