Maranta Leuconeura var. kerchoveana "Variegata", also known as Maranta ‘Beauty Kim’. A spectacular variety, with yellow splashes and sometimes even red and white.
Maranta is a plant with very spectacular and attractive leaf patterns. The leaves look as if they were hand-painted.
Maranta was named after Bartolomeo Maranti, a famous Venetian botanist of the sixteenth century, and originates from Central and South America.
Maranta grows up to about 45 cm tall, producing 5-6 new leaves per year. It prefers semi-shaded or shaded locations, and exposure to too much light discolors the leaves.
Placement: shaded area with indirect light. Does not tolerate drafts or very low temperatures during winter. In summer, it thrives in a cooler spot; excessive heat causes leaf spotting.
Propagation: by dividing the clump.
Height including pot: 20-30 cm
