Macropodanthus cootesii - a botanical species endemic to the Philippines.
The plant was named after the Australian orchid enthusiast Jim Cootes, who discovered it. Macropodanthus cootesii was only described in December 2010 by Dr. George Tiong in the German journal Die Orchidee.
The growth style is typical of Vandaceous orchids and somewhat similar to Phalaenopsis, suggesting similar care conditions. The plant can be grown in sphagnum, bark, mixes, or mounted.
The stems are long, pendulous, loaded with numerous flowers colored in shades of yellow-green, strongly fragrant (citrus aroma).
