Hoya endauensis - species discovered in 1985 and published by Malaysian botanist Dr. Ruth Kiew in 1989 on the banks of the Ulu Endau River in Malaysia, after which it is named.

Hoya endauensis is still a species considered rare, endangered in its country of origin.

Hoya endauensis is very similar to Hoya kanyakumariana, which is why the two are frequently confused.
