Dracula sodiroi is a compact and miniature epiphytic orchid species, native to the humid montane forests of Ecuador and Colombia, where it grows at high altitudes in cool and moist conditions. It has green, lanceolate leaves about 10-15 cm long, and produces pendulous inflorescences with small flowers about 5-7 cm wide, with long, elongated orange sepals and a hairy inner appearance, resembling monkey faces when open, blooming almost all year round under optimal conditions. It is sensitive, preferring shade, high humidity, and cooler night temperatures, making it also suitable for terrariums.
