Bromelia Mix brings together different varieties of tropical bromeliads, selected for their decorative foliage and intensely colored inflorescences. Depending on the batch, the mix may include plants with compact or broad rosettes, green or patterned leaves, and inflorescences in shades of red, yellow, orange, pink, or combinations of these colors.

Bromeliads have an exotic appearance and distinctive structure: the leaves are arranged in a rosette, and the inflorescence develops from its center. What is often perceived as the “flower” consists largely of colored bracts, which can retain their decorative appearance for a long time.

As this is a MIX product, the variety, color, leaf shape, and appearance of the inflorescence differ from one specimen to another.

🌞 Growing conditions and care

  • Light: prefers bright, indirect light. Varieties with intensely colored or patterned foliage retain their characteristics better in a bright space. Avoid strong midday sun.
  • Watering: moderate. The substrate should be kept slightly moist, but never permanently waterlogged. Bromeliads are sensitive to excess moisture around the roots.
  • Water in the rosette: many epiphytic bromeliads can retain a small amount of water in the central rosette, preferably using low-mineral water. The water should be changed regularly and should not be left stagnant for very long periods. In cool conditions or with poor ventilation, reduce the amount of water.
  • Humidity: appreciates moderate to high atmospheric humidity combined with good air circulation.
  • Temperature: ideally approximately 18-27°C. Protect from low temperatures and cold drafts.
  • Fertilizing: light fertilization during the active growth period. Avoid overfertilizing.
  • After flowering: the rosette that has flowered gradually completes its life cycle. This is a natural process, not the death of the entire plant. Before or after this stage, many bromeliads produce pups at the base, which continue the plant’s development.

🌱 Secret Garden substrate recommendation

Bromeliads need an airy, porous, and well-draining substrate that allows the roots to receive oxygen and excess water to drain quickly. For predominantly epiphytic species, a coarse-textured mix that does not compact easily is suitable.

📌 Note - MIX product

The product is sold as a MIX. The variety, inflorescence color, leaf shape and pattern, rosette size, and flowering stage may vary depending on the available specimen. The photos are for reference and show the diversity of the batch; a specific variety or color is not guaranteed unless it is separately mentioned as a selection option.

The inflorescences and bracts may have dry edges, spots, discoloration, or other aesthetic imperfections, and may become damaged or deteriorate as a result of handling, transport, and adaptation to new environmental conditions. The leaves may show small tears, scratches, bends, dry tips, or other natural signs of growth and handling. These aspects do not normally affect the plant’s viability.

Important: after flowering, the rosette that produced the inflorescence naturally enters a slow decline and may gradually die, while the plant produces pups at the base. This is the normal biological cycle of bromeliads and does not constitute a defect in the plant.
