Vanda sanderiana var. alba

In its natural habitat, Vanda sanderiana grows on tree trunks at altitudes up to 500 meters above sea level, often near water, frequently hanging over water and commonly fully exposed to sunlight. It is a species of great importance in vandaceous hybridization programs due to its striking two-tone appearance and fragrant flowers. It is found in the Philippines, on the island of Mindanao, and is a large, monopodial plant with rapid growth in warm climate conditions.

It blooms more frequently in autumn on 1 or 2 solid, upright axillary flower stalks up to 30 cm long, bearing 7 to 10 fragrant flowers with a long lifespan.
