Rhipsalis baccifera subsp. horrida is an exotic and unusual succulent plant, native to the tropical forests of Central and South America, known for its atypical and textured appearance, with cylindrical, segmented, rigid, and slightly spiny stems. It is a subspecies of the only cactus that grows naturally in the Old World (Africa and Madagascar), and its unique form makes it ideal for modern decorations, hanging arrangements, or collections of succulents and cacti.

🌿 General characteristics:

Plant type: epiphytic cactus, succulent

Appearance: thick, straight or curved stems, dark green, segmented, with rare and stiff hairs (not harmful)

Size: can reach 30–60 cm in length at maturity, especially in hanging pots

Growth: moderate to fast, with a “wild” and architectural look

🌞 Growing conditions:

Light: bright indirect light or partial shade – also tolerates filtered light

Soil: airy mix for cacti and succulents, well drained

Watering: low – water only when the substrate is completely dry; prefers dry periods between waterings

Temperature: optimal between 18–28°C; does not tolerate cold below 10°C

Humidity: tolerates dry air but also feels good in slightly damp spaces

🌸 Particularities and benefits:

• Does not have aggressive spines – the stiff hairs are harmless

• It is an undemanding plant, perfect for beginners

• Can be grown in hanging pots, window boxes, or as a desk plant

• Purifies the air and adds unique texture to modern plant arrangements

📏 Size at delivery: approx. 15–20 cm, depending on development
