Renanthera monachica
Renanthera monachica Orchid is a compact and spectacular epiphytic botanical species of monopodial epiphytic orchid from the genus Renanthera, endemic to Luzon Island, Philippines, at low altitudes (up to 500 m).
The plant remains relatively small for a Vandaceous (leaf span 15-20 cm), with thick, leathery, glossy dark green leaves alternating on the erect stem. It is ideal for limited spaces or hanging baskets.
The flowers are small to medium (2.5-4 cm), intense yellow-orange, densely spotted with blood-red (a "speckled" or "Spanish Dancing Girl" effect), grouped in long, branched inflorescences (up to 45 cm), with up to 50 flowers simultaneously, which last 4-6 weeks under optimal conditions. They look absolutely stunning in mass!
