Hoya curtisii (Taiwan) - developed specimens

Hoya curtisii is a compact species with small, spade-shaped foliage covered in silver splash. The species is native from Thailand through the Malay Peninsula, Borneo, and the Philippines. The flowers are star-shaped, green-yellow or cream, with a pink center, and are fragrant. Blooming depends on the plant’s maturity and growing conditions. A rewarding houseplant with simple care requirements. Its textured leaves make it easy to recognize.

Foliage and growth. The leaves are small, thick, spade- or heart-shaped, olive green, with irregular silver splashes. This pattern is splash, not variegation. The intensity of the splash varies from one leaf to another. The growth habit is compact and trailing. The specimens shown in the title represent the commercial stage of the batch.

Flowers and fragrance. The flowers are star-shaped and appear large in relation to the small foliage. The color ranges from green-yellow to cream, with a pink corona in the center. They are fragrant; horticultural notes mention a pleasant, medium-intensity fragrance, sometimes compared to citrus. We do not promise a single fragrance profile. Identity. The accepted name is Hoya curtisii King & Gamble, published in 1908. Hoya pruinosa (Blume) Miq. is an accepted species from New Guinea and is not a synonym of this plant. Taiwan is not part of its native range.
