Ferocactus Emoryi (Emory's Barrel Cactus)

Ferocactus emoryi, also known as the "iron bar cactus," is a species of cactus native to the deserts of the southwestern United States and northern Mexico. It is a large-sized cactus with a cylindrical shape, which can reach heights of up to 2.5 meters and a diameter of up to 60 cm.

On the surface of the body, prominent "ribs" are regularly arranged. Along these ribs, there are areoles from which numerous strong spines grow. The spines are usually gray-brown, and some of them can be so strong that they can be compared to an iron bar, hence the common name of the species.

Its flowers, usually red or orange, appear at the top of the plant and can reach up to 6 cm in diameter. The fruits are light green to yellow and are edible.

Ferocactus emoryi is a hardy plant, adapted to drought conditions. It prefers well-drained soil and exposure to direct or semi-direct sunlight. It is also tolerant of low temperatures but should be protected from frost. It is a popular choice due to its impressive size and beautiful flowers.
