Cattleya tenebrosa 'YD Black Eye' is an attractive cultivar of the botanical species
Cattleya tenebrosa. Discovered in 2006, with fragrant flowers, native to Brazil, found in the Bahia and Espirito Santo regions. It features pseudobulbs up to 30 cm tall and stiff, green leaves 30 cm long, while the flowers are large, about 20 cm, bronze-copper colored with a dark purple, almost black labellum, creating a dramatic contrast. It blooms more frequently in summer, with 2-3 flowers per stem, emitting a pleasant spicy or citrus scent. Prefers moderate indirect light, intermediate temperatures, and moderate humidity. It is valued for its large, unique flowers and intense fragrance.
