Full description and specifications

Apartment lily, also known as Hippeastrum, Amaryllis, Room lily, Knight's Star.

Amaryllis Red Garden is a spectacular ornamental plant, famous for its large, intense red flowers, which add a splash of dramatic color to any interior space. Its flowers have wide, velvety petals, arranged symmetrically, and can reach a diameter of 15-20 cm, being a focal point in the decorative landscape.

Care:

  1. Light : Amaryllis prefers strong indirect light, being ideal for positioning near a sunny window. If it is planted in the garden, it is good to be placed in a partially shaded place, to protect it from the intense direct sun.

  2. Watering : The plant needs moderate watering. During the growing period, the soil must be kept moist, but not wet. It is important to avoid excess water to prevent rotting of the bulb. During the rest period (after flowering), watering should be considerably reduced.

  3. Soil : The ideal soil for Amaryllis is well-drained and rich in nutrients. A mixture of flower soil with sand or perlite is recommended to ensure the necessary drainage.

  4. Temperature : Amaryllis does well at indoor temperatures between 18-24°C. During the summer, it can be moved to the garden, but it must be brought inside before the appearance of frost, because it does not tolerate temperatures below 10°C.

  5. Fertilization : During the growth period, the plant benefits from a monthly fertilization with a balanced fertilizer, to stimulate abundant flowering and healthy foliage.

  6. Rest : Amaryllis requires a rest period of approximately 8-10 weeks after flowering. The leaves will dry out, and watering should be reduced to allow the bulb to recover. After this period, the plant can be put back in the light and watered to stimulate a new flowering.
