Paphiopedilum gratrixianum
The Paphiopedilum Gratrixianum orchid is native to Southeast Laos, Northern Vietnam where it grows on mountain ridges at altitudes between 900 and 1220 meters. It was described by the English botanist Robert Allen Rolfe in 1905.
The Paphiopedilum succulent blooms in early autumn and winter, on 25 cm long stems, with unique flowers, with a purple pubescence inflorescence, and a long-lasting flower stem.
Placement: Place in partial shade, ensuring good ventilation.
Optimal temperature: 15°-22° C. Its night temperature should always be 3 °C lower than the daytime temperature.
Watering: frequent watering, requires constant moisture. Excess water must drain from the pot, as water stagnation both inside and in the saucer can very quickly lead to root and lower part rot of the plant. Water must not remain on the leaves. Spraying is not recommended.
Humidity: 50-70% will be sufficient for the normal growth and development of the plant. However, at temperatures above 27 °C, it is desirable to increase the air humidity to at least 70%, as too dry air affects the roots and leaves of the plant.
Flowering period: autumn and winter.
Flowering duration: 3-4 weeks.
Height with pot included: approx. 20 cm (for flowering specimens)
