Cattleya labiata var. alba - a botanical species found in Venezuela and the states of Maranhao, Piaui, Ceara, Pernambuco, and Alagoas in Brazil. The plant has cane-shaped, slightly compressed pseudobulbs, accompanied by several thin-textured green sheaths. Each pseudobulb bears a single apical leaf, oblong, blunt, and leathery in texture. Flowers appear more frequently in autumn and early winter on a short inflorescence that includes between 2 and 5 flowers.
The flowers are very large, impressive, and have a strong, spicy, aromatic fragrance reminiscent of cloves.
