Peperomia clusiifolia 'Red Margin', also known as Peperomia Red Edge, is a popular houseplant valued for its decorative leaves with red edges. It is an easy-to-care-for plant, making it ideal for beginners or those who want to add a touch of greenery to their home without much effort.

Care:

  1. Light: Peperomia 'Red Margin' prefers indirect light. It can also tolerate low light, but direct strong sunlight may cause leaf burns. It is ideal to place it near an east or west-facing window.
  2. Soil: Prefers well-drained, airy soil, suitable for houseplants or succulents. A mix of peat, perlite, and potting soil is appropriate.
  3. Watering: Watering should be moderate. The soil should dry out partially between waterings to prevent root rot. During winter, watering should be reduced.
  4. Humidity: Peperomia clusiifolia 'Red Margin' tolerates dry air well but prefers a moderate level of humidity. Occasional misting of the leaves can be beneficial.
  5. Temperature: The plant grows best at temperatures between 18-24°C. Avoid exposure to temperatures below 10°C.
  6. Fertilizing: Fertilize the plant every 2-4 weeks during the growing season (spring and summer) with a diluted liquid fertilizer for houseplants. Reduce fertilizing during autumn and winter.
  7. Propagation: Easily propagated by stem or leaf cuttings. Cuttings can be planted directly in soil or placed in water until roots develop.
  8. Common problems: It is resistant to most pests but can occasionally be affected by aphids or mites. Overwatering can lead to root rot, so ensure the soil is well-drained.
