Monstera variegata 'Thai Constellation'
Monstera 'Thai Constellation' is a cultivar of the Monstera deliciosa species, belonging to the Araceae family. This cultivar features sectoral variegation, with variable shades of cream-white-yellow and green distributed irregularly across the leaf surface, resulting from a genetic mutation.
The mature leaves of this plant feature fenestrations (and/or perforations) and are heart-shaped, with entire or lobed margins. Monstera deliciosa 'Thai Constellation' is a large epiphytic vine, meaning it naturally grows on other plants without being parasitic and gains support by wrapping around its host.
Monstera deliciosa 'Thai Constellation' requires moderate to bright indirect light, a substrate with adequate drainage, and watering when the first few centimeters of substrate have dried out. In response to the plant's natural climbing tendency, using a generously sized support or moss pole is recommended to facilitate the plant's vertical growth.
Humidity. Given the origin of the base species (tropical jungle), the plant thrives in conditions of high atmospheric humidity. However, it can be acclimatized relatively easily to humidity levels of 40–60%, with the higher end being preferable. During acclimatization periods, it is recommended to mist the leaves frequently at first to prevent the appearance of black spots. Misting can be gradually reduced.
Height including pot: approx. 30 cm
Note: This sensitive variety may develop damaged foliage following transport and handling. The level and pattern of variegation vary from one specimen to another; however, all specimens display the characteristic variegation.
