Cymbidium Claire - spektakularni hibrid

Cymbidium Claire is a historic ("vintage") hybrid from the genus Cymbidium, resulting from the crossing of Cymbidium Isabel Sander and Cymbidium Magali Sander.

• Registration: It was registered at the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) in the year 1940 by the famous nursery Sanders (St Albans), one of the most important names in the history of orchid hybridization.

• Genetics: This hybrid has an interesting genetic makeup, being dominated by Cymbidium lowianum var. kalawense (37.5%) and Cymbidium insigne (25%). It also contains equal shares (12.5% each) of Cymbidium sanderae, Cymbidium lowianum (typical form), and Cymbidium schroederi.

It is a sturdy plant, valued by collectors for its exotic flowers, which recall wild species but with the vigor of a hybrid.
