Cereus forbesii is a columnar cactus native to South America, prized in cactus collections for its upright, elegant habit. The cylindrical, bluish-green stems are deeply ribbed and have areoles bearing short, yellow-brown spines. Over time, the plant can branch from the base, forming impressive colonies. At maturity, it produces large, white, nocturnal flowers, followed by red, fleshy, sometimes edible fruits.
