Hoya sigillatis 'Round Leaf' (Wide form, AH001) - full pots
Hoya sigillatis 'Round Leaf' (Wide form, AH001) is the leaf form of the accepted species Hoya sigillatis, endemic to Sabah, on the island of Borneo. The foliage is wider and rounder than that of the narrow form, with dense silver splash on a green background. Under good growing conditions, peach-orange umbels with a caramel fragrance may appear. Flowering depends on the plant's maturity and growing conditions. The textured foliage remains decorative year-round.
Foliage and splash. The leaves of this batch are broad, ovate or nearly round, with a firm texture and dense gray-silver markings. Round Leaf, Wide form, and AH001 are commercial labels for this foliage clone. In brighter light, introduced gradually, the foliage may develop bronze, burgundy, or purplish tones. This coloration is a response to light, not a change in identity. Black margins are not promised.
Flowers and fragrance. Under good growing conditions, the plant may produce flat umbels with small, reflexed flowers. The corolla is peach-orange, while the corona tends toward yellow. The flowers may last approximately one week. Growers describe the fragrance as caramel-like; its intensity varies. Flowering depends on the plant's maturity and growing conditions.
The plant may react to repeated moves or sudden temperature fluctuations by losing some leaves or buds. Give it a stable location after acclimatization and do not remove the green peduncles, as they may flower again.
Note for international orders: the plant is sensitive to long transport in a box, especially in extreme heat or freezing conditions.
The ceramic pot is not included in the price.
Identity. The accepted name is Hoya sigillatis T.Green, published in 2004. Its native range is Borneo (Sabah), where it grows as an epiphyte or lithophyte. Before its description, it circulated as sp. Flecked Leaf and was sometimes incorrectly identified as hasseltii.
Substrate: use an airy, well-drained mix suitable for epiphytic species. We recommend the professional substrate for Hoya and Anthurium - SG Mix.
