Epidendrum porpax - a miniature botanical species found in Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia, Venezuela, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, and Brazil, in moist mountain forests and cloud forests, at altitudes between 400 and 1800 meters. It is a very small epiphyte, with growth adapted to conditions ranging from warmth to coolness, forming dense mats. It has simple stems, similar to a stalk, laterally compressed and slightly bent, bearing between 4 and 13 leaves arranged along the stem in two rows.

In its natural environment, it blooms from late spring through winter, on a terminal, stalkless inflorescence with a single flower, which appears through a hemi-elliptical, ovate-lanceolate, rounded, and slightly slanted bract at the tip. The flowers are fragrant, turned upside down, and fleshy.

Flower size: approx. 1.5 cm

Fragrant flowers: Yes

It is cared for like Gomesa Radicans. Consult the care guide on the Blog.
