A symbol of purity and sensuality, Jasminum sambac has impressed the entire world.
It is a variety of jasmine with aromatic properties and double white flowers, strongly scented. As they mature, the flowers turn pink.
In China, the flowers are used to prepare the famous jasmine teas. In France, the plant has inspired countless perfumes produced by designers. In the world, Jasminum sambac oil is a symbol of romance and is used extensively as an aphrodisiac, and the cosmetics industry uses it in creams, shampoos, soaps, etc.
Last but not least, the plant was awarded the Royal Horticultural Society's Award by the RHS.
Jasminum sambac flowers show great variability, possibly as a result of spontaneous mutations, natural hybridization, and self-pollination. Despite being a double-flowered variety, in some cases the flowers will be single or mixed.
