Alocasia reginula 'Black Velvet'

Alocasia Black Velvet, commonly known as Elephant Ear, is a relatively easy-to-care-for exotic plant. A botanical beauty with unique leaves, available only in limited stock!
Alocasia Black Velvet is a dwarf tropical plant and a "must-have" among collectors.

Recommended growing conditions:

• Light: prefers indirect light, from moderate to strong; direct exposure to strong sunlight can cause leaf burns.

• Watering: the soil should be kept slightly moist, but without excess water. Before watering again, let the top layer of the substrate dry a little to prevent root rot.

• Soil: airy, well-drained mix made of peat, perlite, and possibly pieces of bark, to ensure good air circulation at the roots.

• Humidity: originating from tropical areas, Alocasia Black Velvet prefers medium to high air humidity. Spraying the leaves or using a humidifier can be helpful in dry spaces.

• Recommended temperatures: warm averages, without sudden changes. Although it does not require extreme temperatures, it should be protected from cold.

• Fertilizing: moderate, with a balanced fertilizer, especially during the growing period (spring-summer). Avoid excess, which can burn the roots or sensitive leaves.

Note: Alocasia is a sensitive plant. Therefore, you may receive these plants with some leaf imperfections, but these do not affect the plant’s viability.
