Aeschynanthus 'Swing', also known as the lipstick plant, is an easy-care houseplant native to Southeast Asia. It is known for its vibrant red, tubular flowers that resemble lipstick tubes. Here are some essential tips for caring for Aeschynanthus:

Light: Aeschynanthus requires indirect light. Avoid direct sunlight as it can burn the leaves.

Watering: Water your Aeschynanthus when the top layer of soil feels dry to the touch. Allow excess water to drain completely and do not let the plant sit in water. Overwatering can lead to root rot.

Temperature: Aeschynanthus prefers warm temperatures between 18-27°C. Avoid placing the plant in drafts or near heat sources, as sudden temperature fluctuations can stress the plant.

Humidity: Aeschynanthus is a tropical plant and thrives in humid environments. Mist the plant regularly, especially during the winter when indoor humidity is lower. You can also place the plant on a tray of pebbles filled with water to increase the humidity around the pot.

Soil: Aeschynanthus prefers a well-drained potting mix similar to that used for orchids or African violets. This type of soil will provide adequate aeration and drainage, preventing root rot.

Fertilization: During the growing season (spring and summer), fertilize Aeschynanthus once a month with a diluted balanced fertilizer. Reduce the frequency of fertilization to once every two months in the fall and winter.

Pruning: Remove the tips of growing stems to encourage more compact growth and prevent the plant from becoming brittle. Remove any dead or damaged leaves to maintain the plant's appearance.

Repotting: Repot Aeschynanthus every two to three years, as it grows and the roots fill the pot.

It is sold as a plant without flowers.
