Pachypodium succulentum is a succulent plant native to South Africa, which is part of the Apocynaceae family. It is appreciated for its succulent trunk, interesting leaves and flowers, being a popular choice for succulent plant collectors and cactus lovers.

Size and shape : Pachypodium succulentum is a dwarf shrub with a short, thick and juicy trunk (caudex), which can reach heights of up to 30-45 cm. The trunk is covered with short thorns and the branches grow near the top of the plant.

Leaves : The leaves are green, lanceolate, about 5-10 cm (2-4 inches) long at maturity. They are arranged spirally around the top of the branches and fall in the dry season, leaving the plant dormant.
