Iris kaempferi ‘Variegata’ (Ensata) is a decorative Japanese iris, with long, narrow foliage, green with cream-white or yellow edges, and large purple-violet flowers that bloom in June-July. It grows up to 90 cm tall, prefers moist soils rich in organic matter, and thrives in full sun or partial shade. Hardy to cold (Zones 4-9), but requires constant moisture. It is ideal for pond edges, Asian-style gardens, or large pots and brings a lush appearance with minimal care.
Withstands temperatures down to -30 degrees Celsius.
