Haworthia Superfasciata Care
Light:
- Prefers strong indirect light or filtered sunlight.
- Can tolerate direct morning sun but must be protected from the strong midday sun, which can burn the leaves.
- In low light conditions, the plant may become etiolated (stretched and deformed).
Soil:
- Needs well-drained soil, recommended for cacti and succulents.
- A mix of general-purpose soil with coarse sand or perlite is ideal to prevent water accumulation.
Watering:
- Water the plant only when the soil is completely dry, usually once every 2-3 weeks in the warm season.
- Reduce watering in the cold season, once a month or even less often.
- Excess water can cause root rot and fungal diseases.
Temperature:
- Thrives best at temperatures between 15°C and 25°C.
- Does not tolerate frost; maintain temperatures above 10°C throughout the year.
Humidity:
- Prefers a low to moderate humidity environment.
- High humidity can encourage the development of fungi and pests.
Fertilizing:
- Apply a weak fertilizer for cacti and succulents once a month during the growing season (spring and summer).
- Avoid over-fertilizing, which can harm the plant.
Repotting:
- Repot every 2-3 years or when the plant outgrows its pot.
- Use a pot with drainage holes and fresh substrate.
Propagation:
- Easily propagated by separating the offsets (small rosettes) that appear at the base of the plant.
- The offsets should be planted in dry, well-drained substrate.
Height with pot included approx. 12 cm.
