Full description and specifications

Anthurium Balaoanum is a fascinating species of anthurium, prized for its long, thin and elegant leaves. It is a decorative tropical plant, ideal for lovers of exotic plants and rare collections.

Care:

  1. Light:

    • It prefers bright indirect light. Direct sunlight can burn the leaves.
    • It is also suitable for spaces with filtered light, such as those near an east or west-facing window.
  2. Temperature:

    • It grows well at temperatures between 18-28°C. Avoid temperatures below 15°C, as it may suffer damage from cold.
    • Ensure a constant temperature, without sudden variations.
  3. Moisture:

    • It requires high humidity, preferably above 60%. Use a humidifier or periodically spray the leaves with non-calcareous water.
    • Positioning it near other tropical plants can create a favorable microclimate.
  4. Watering:

    • Water regularly, keeping the soil slightly moist but not soggy. Allow the top layer of soil to dry slightly between waterings.
    • Use rainwater or demineralized water to avoid salt accumulation in the soil.
  5. Soil:

    • It prefers a well-drained, aerated soil rich in organic matter. An orchid or epiphyte mix, combined with peat and perlite, is ideal.
    • Ensure good drainage to avoid root rot.
  6. Fertilization:

    • Apply a liquid fertilizer for tropical or epiphytic plants once a month during the active growth period (spring and summer).
    • Reduce fertilization in the fall and winter months.
  7. Leaf care:

    • Wipe the leaves periodically with a soft, damp cloth to remove dust and improve photosynthesis.
    • Avoid using leaf polish solutions, which can block pores.
