Anthurium is a tropical plant that adapts to almost any environment and produces flowers throughout the year.
If the anthurium receives enough light, it can bloom all year round. Additionally, this plant is particularly effective at removing harmful chemicals such as ammonia and formaldehyde.

Care:

  1. Light: Prefers indirect light, bright area. It can tolerate partial shade, but flowering will be more abundant under adequate light conditions. Avoid direct sun exposure, which can burn the leaves.
  2. Soil: Prefers well-drained soil rich in organic matter. A mix of potting soil with perlite and peat is ideal to ensure proper drainage.
  3. Watering: Water regularly, keeping the soil evenly moist but not saturated. Allow the soil to dry slightly between waterings to prevent root rot. Reduce watering slightly during winter.
  4. Humidity: Anthurium prefers a high humidity level. Regular misting of the leaves or using a humidifier can be beneficial, especially during the winter months.
  5. Temperature: The plant thrives best at temperatures between 18-25°C (64-77°F). Avoid exposure to temperatures below 15°C (59°F) and protect the plant from cold drafts.
  6. Fertilizing: Fertilize the plant once a month during the growing season (spring and summer) with a balanced liquid fertilizer for indoor plants. Reduce fertilizing during autumn and winter.
  7. Propagation: Anthurium is propagated by dividing the clump or by stem cuttings. Division is best done in spring.
  8. Common issues: The plant can be affected by pests such as red spider mites, aphids, and mealybugs. Check the plant regularly and treat with appropriate insecticides if necessary. Overwatering can lead to root rot and mold growth.
