Aglaonema is a decorative houseplant, easy to care for, being tolerant of low light conditions and infrequent watering.
Native to the Philippines, Aglaonema has decorative leaves, with slow growth, which beautify any space. It is one of the few plants that can survive solely under fluorescent lighting, making it an excellent choice for low-light areas.
NASA ranks Aglaonema among the top 10 plants recognized for its air-purifying qualities, due to its ability to remove benzene and formaldehyde from the air.

It is a very popular and easy-to-care-for houseplant, ideal for beginners. Here are some tips for caring for this plant:

  1. Light: Aglaonema prefers bright indirect light but can also tolerate low light conditions. Avoid exposure to direct sunlight, which can burn the leaves.

  2. Watering: Water when the top centimeter of soil feels dry to the touch. Avoid overwatering, which can lead to root rot.

  3. Humidity: The plant adapts to various humidity levels but prefers moderate humidity. Occasional misting with water can be beneficial, especially in dry air conditions.

  4. Temperature: Ideal temperatures for Aglaonema range between 18-24 degrees Celsius. The plant does not tolerate temperatures below 10 degrees Celsius.

  5. Fertilizing: During the growing season (spring and summer), you can use a diluted liquid fertilizer once a month. Suspend fertilizing during the cold season.

  6. Soil: A well-drained soil mix is ideal. Many indoor plant soil mixes are suitable.
