Echinofossulocactus multicostatus, also known as 'Stenocactus multicostatus', is a species of cactus native to Mexico. It is famous for its unique appearance, characterized by numerous ribs on its cylindrical body, which can range from 30 to over 100 in number.

The cactus is small to medium-sized, with a height of about 5-15 cm and a width of 6-10 cm. It has a light green body covered with many narrow, wavy ribs, giving the plant a "brain-like" look. The spines are thin, white or yellowish, with a central spine that is often longer and darker in color.

Echinofossulocactus multicostatus produces small flowers, usually pale pink or white, which appear in spring. These flowers open only for a short time, usually just a few hours a day.

Like most cacti, Echinofossulocactus multicostatus prefers well-drained soil and needs moderate watering, which is reduced during the winter dormancy period. It is a plant that adapts well to indoor conditions, as long as it is given strong direct or indirect sunlight.

Synonyms: Echinofossulocactus erectocentrus, Stenocactus multicostatus.
