Sansevieria 'Cordova Variegated' – Compact Snake Plant with Variegated Leaves
Sansevieria 'Cordova Variegated' (recently reclassified as Dracaena) is a compact and highly decorative variety of Sansevieria, appreciated for its straight, sword-shaped leaves with distinct variegation.
The leaves are thick and succulent, dark green with light vertical stripes (light green or yellow) and often cream-yellow margins. The plant forms a dense, orderly rosette with a sculptural, modern appearance. It is one of the hardiest and easiest-to-care-for Sansevierias.
Main characteristics:
- Straight, sword-shaped leaves with yellow-cream variegation
- Compact and orderly rosette
- Sculptural, modern appearance
- Slow growth
- Size: 30–45 cm in height (in a pot)
Easy care:
- Light: tolerates anything from bright indirect light to partial shade. In better light, the variegation is more pronounced.
- Temperature: 16–30°C. It tolerates lower temperatures well, but not below 10–12°C for extended periods.
- Watering: very infrequent. Allow the substrate to dry out almost completely between waterings. Water even less frequently in winter.
- Humidity: low to medium (it tolerates dry air very well).
- Substrate: very well-draining, mineral-based.
Recommended substrate: For healthy growth and to prevent root rot, a special substrate for succulents is recommended. → Professional substrate for cacti, succulents and Adenium - Secret Garden
Uses: Excellent for offices, living rooms, bedrooms or spaces with lower light levels. Thanks to its compact size and exceptional hardiness, it is ideal for those looking for a decorative plant that requires minimal maintenance.
Note: Like all Sansevierias, it is highly sensitive to overwatering. Excessive watering is the main cause of plant loss. Allow the substrate to dry thoroughly before watering again.
A compact, hardy and easy-to-care-for variety, perfect for any indoor space.
