Philodendron scandens pictus (babyplant)
€5,95
Philodendron scandens 'Pictus', sometimes known as Philodendron hederaceum 'Pictus' or Philodendron 'Silver', is a popular houseplant valued for its decorative leaves and relatively easy care. It belongs to the Araceae family and originates from the tropical regions of South America.
Care
- Light: Prefers indirect light, from moderate to bright. Direct sunlight can scorch the leaves, while too little light may reduce variegation.
- Watering: Water regularly, keeping the soil evenly moist but not waterlogged. Allow the top 1-2 cm of soil to dry out before watering again. Avoid water stagnation in the pot’s saucer.
- Soil: A well-draining soil mix.
- Humidity: Being a tropical plant, Philodendron 'Pictus' prefers high humidity. It can benefit from occasional misting or being placed near a humidifier.
- Fertilizing: Feed with a diluted liquid fertilizer for houseplants once a month during the active growing season (spring and summer).
- Pruning: Periodically clean the leaves of dust to allow the plant to breathe and absorb light efficiently. Cut any dry or damaged leaves to encourage growth.
The specimens show defects on the basal leaves.
