Hoya sigillatis (Taiwan) is a cultivar of the species; the designation in parentheses indicates the source lot. Hoya sigillatis is an accepted species endemic to Sabah, on the island of Borneo. It has a trailing or climbing habit and is particularly valued for its narrow, olive-green foliage, irregularly speckled with silvery markings that can become more contrasting in good light. The textured foliage remains decorative year-round.

Foliage and splash. The leaves are narrow, elliptic to lanceolate, with a firm texture and numerous gray-silver spots. These markings are described as splash and can vary considerably between leaves and specimens; they are not equivalent to the cream or white variegation produced by areas lacking chlorophyll.

In brighter light, introduced gradually, the green foliage may develop bronze, burgundy, or purplish tones. This coloration is a response to light, not a change in the plant’s identity. Intense sunlight through a window can still scorch the leaves, so acclimatization remains important.

Flowers and fragrance. Under good growing conditions, the plant may produce umbels with approximately 20–25 small, reflexed flowers. The corolla is apricot-orange, while the corona tends toward yellow. The flowers may last approximately one week. Growers describe the fragrance differently, from subtle to clearly perceptible, with notes of caramel or buttery caramel; its intensity varies with the time of day and growing conditions.

The plant may react to repeated moves or sudden temperature fluctuations by losing some leaves or buds. Provide it with a stable location after acclimatization and do not remove the green peduncles, as they may flower again.

The decorative pot is not included in the price.

Substrate: use an airy, well-draining mix suitable for epiphytic species. We recommend the professional substrate for Hoya and Anthurium - SG Mix.
