Ferocactus macrodiscus
€5,95
Ferocactus macrodiscus is a species of cactus native to central Mexico. It is a small to medium-sized succulent plant, with a globular shape at maturity, which can reach up to 40 cm in diameter.
On the green surface of the body are prominent ribs, from which strong spines grow. The spines are light gray or white, and some may have red tips. Generally, there is a single long central spine, with the rest radiating around it.
The flowers are pink or red, appear at the top, and can reach up to 4 cm in diameter. These are followed by small, elongated, dark red fruits.
Ferocactus macrodiscus is a hardy plant, adapted to dry conditions. It prefers well-drained soil and requires exposure to direct or semi-direct sunlight. It is also tolerant of low temperatures but must be protected from frost. It is a popular choice for cactus gardens due to its compact shape and attractive flowers.
