Brassocatanthe Sun Mei Gold 'Elsie May' HCC/AOS is a hybrid with fragrant flowers, resulting from the cross between Brassocattleya Richard Mueller x Cattlianthe Sun Mei Star, registered by Sun Mei Orch. in 2007, awarded the Highly Commended Certificate by the American Orchid Society. It features oval pseudobulbs and long green leaves, with large flowers about 8 cm in size, yellow-orange with red-purple spots, yellow petals and sepals, and a yellow labellum spotted with purple. It blooms irregularly throughout the year with 4-8 flowers per stem, emitting a pleasant fragrance. It prefers strong indirect light, intermediate to warm temperatures, and moderate humidity. It is valued for its vibrant flowers, fragrance, and vigorous growth.
