Dimorphorchis lowii sp. Borneo - an extremely rare species from Borneo, notable for having two types of large flowers, differing in shape and color, on the same flower stem. The flower stems reach impressive lengths (up to 360 cm), with yellow flowers spotted with purple and strongly scented at the base, while towards the top there are yellow flowers covered with large, brick-red spots.
This species prefers a light intensity between that of Phalaenopsis and Cattleya. It can be successfully grown in hanging supports or placed baskets, with a coarse substrate specific for Vanda. The impressive size of the stems is not a problem, as they are sturdy, flexible, and can be braided or arranged according to the available space. The flowers last 2-3 months!
Flower size: 7.5+ cm
Flowering period: at any time of the year (free flowering). Flowering seems to be predominant in the warm season.
Note: hanging system is not included
This species is cared for like a Vanda. Consult the care guide here. Fragrant flowers: DAGen/Type: Specialties
