Echinocereus subinermis

Echinocereus subinermis is a cactus native to Mexico, known for its unique and attractive appearance. The plant has a cylindrical or slightly oval shape, reaching moderate sizes. Its surface is covered with short spines, often absent or very fine, which gives it a friendlier appearance than other cacti. The color is usually an intense green, with shades that can vary depending on the growing conditions. During the flowering period, Echinocereus subinermis produces spectacular, large flowers.

Echinocereus subinermis prefers a lot of light. Make sure the plant receives at least 5-6 hours of direct sunlight per day. It can be kept outside in the summer in a sunny spot, but should be brought indoors in the winter in areas where temperatures drop below freezing.

This cactus requires moderate watering. During the growing season (spring-summer), water the plant when the soil becomes completely dry. Reduce watering in the winter, keeping the soil almost dry, as the plant enters a dormant period. Use a well-drained soil mix specifically for cacti.
