Scadoxus multiflorus (Fire Lily, Blood Lily)

Scadoxus multiflorus, also known as the Fire Lily or Blood Lily, is a perennial plant belonging to the Amaryllidaceae family. It is native to Africa and is known for its spectacular spherical flower cluster, with numerous small flowers, usually red or orange, that appear before or at the same time as the leaves. The leaves are large, oval-shaped, and dark green.

Care:

Light: Prefers bright, indirect light. Avoid direct sunlight, which can burn the leaves.

Watering: Water moderately, allowing the soil to dry slightly between waterings.

Ideal temperature: Prefers moderate temperatures, between 18-25 degrees Celsius.

Fertilizing: Apply a diluted fertilizer once a month during the growing period.

Repotting: Do this every few years, when the pot becomes too small for the bulb size.

Rest period: The plant has a rest period during which it loses its leaves. During this time, reduce watering. The plant may show leaves with defects.

Toxicity: The plant is toxic and should be kept away from animals and children.
