Potted bulbs need nothing but water to bloom. After a while, the flower will wither and later the leaves will dry out. This is the time to carefully remove the bulb from the soil, wrap it in newspaper, and store it in a cool, dry place.
It can be replanted in a pot in the autumn, and if you water it well and keep it indoors, it will bloom around Christmas. If you decide to plant it directly in the garden, the plant will sprout and bloom in March-April the following year.
