Begonija Maculata 'Silverspot' (Srebrne pikice)
€7,95
Begonia Maculata is a striking ornamental plant, valued for its elongated, dark green leaves covered with distinctive silver spots. Native to the tropical regions of Brazil, this plant belongs to the Begoniaceae family and is one of the most popular species of decorative indoor begonias.
Care conditions
• Light: Prefers bright indirect light but can also tolerate moderate light. Avoid direct sunlight, which can burn the leaves.
• Watering: Keep the soil lightly moist but avoid overwatering. It is recommended to water when the top layer of soil has slightly dried out.
• Humidity: Loves high humidity. Spraying the leaves with water can help, but not directly on them, to prevent spots or fungal diseases.
• Soil: Needs a well-drained, airy substrate rich in organic matter. A mix of peat, perlite, and flower soil is ideal.
• Temperature: Prefers temperatures between 18-26°C and does not tolerate cold below 15°C.
• Fertilizing: Apply a balanced liquid fertilizer every 2-4 weeks during the growing season (spring-summer).
Additional tips
• For compact and lush growth, it is recommended to pinch the growing tips.
• It can be easily propagated by stem cuttings, placed in water or directly in the substrate.
• Avoid frequent moves, as the plant can become stressed and lose leaves.
• It is sensitive to pests such as mealybugs and thrips, so inspect the leaves regularly.
The decorative ceramic pot is not included in the price.
