Haworthia Superfasciata Care
Light:
- Prefers bright indirect light or filtered sun.
- Can tolerate direct morning light but must be protected from strong midday sun, which can burn the leaves.
- In an environment with insufficient light, the plant may become etiolated (elongated and deformed).
Soil:
- Needs well-drained soil, recommended for cacti and succulents.
- A mix of universal soil with coarse sand or perlite is ideal to prevent water accumulation.
Watering:
- Water the plant only when the soil is completely dry, usually once every 2-3 weeks in the warm season.
- Reduce watering in the cold season, once a month or even less.
- Excess water can cause root rot and fungal diseases.
Temperature:
- Thrives best at temperatures between 15°C and 25°C.
- Does not tolerate frost; ensure temperatures above 10°C throughout the year.
Humidity:
- Prefers an environment with low to moderate humidity.
- High humidity can promote the development of fungi and pests.
Fertilization:
- Apply a weak fertilizer for cacti and succulents once a month during the growing season (spring and summer).
- Avoid excessive fertilization, which can harm the plant.
Repotting:
- Repot every 2-3 years or when the plant outgrows the pot.
- Use a pot with drainage holes and fresh substrate.
Propagation:
- It propagates easily by separating the pups (small rosettes) that appear at the base of the plant.
- The pups should be planted in a dry and well-drained substrate.
Height with pot included approx. 12 cm.
