Cleistocactus colademonis, also known by the popular name “Monkey Tail Cactus”, is a spectacular and unusual species of epiphytic cactus, native to Bolivia, valued for its long, curved stems covered with long, white, soft hairs that resemble the fur of an animal's tail.

It is an ideal cactus for hanging pots, where the stems can cascade down, creating a special visual effect. Under optimal conditions, it also produces bright red tubular flowers, highly decorative, which appear directly from the stems.

Stems: long, cylindrical, curved or creeping, covered with soft white hairs, without aggressive spines

🌞 Growing conditions:

Light: filtered sun or bright indirect light – avoid strong midday sun

Soil: very well drained, substrate for cacti and succulents

Watering: reduced – only when the substrate is completely dry; watering is drastically reduced in winter

Temperature: prefers 20–28°C; does not tolerate frost (minimum 10°C)

Humidity: low; plant adapted to dry climate
